How can you help?
Staying at home is a high priority for many elderly and disabled patients and their families. Being close to family and friends in the comfort of their own home makes dealing with difficult health issues much easier. Having equipment that makes it possible for family and caregivers to assist the disabled without risking injury to either provides a peace of mind that many cannot afford.
That’s where Project Freedom comes in.
Project Freedom is a tax-exempt 501c3 organization that lends home health lifts to the needy disabled throughout Michigan. The lift is loaned for as long as needed, then returned, refurbished and put back into service for another recipient. But the need for loaned equipment far exceeds the supply.
And that’s where you come in.
More than 150 families already have used the lifts, but countless more are waiting for one to become available. For $5,300 you can donate a lift that will help many families remain independent and together during debilitating illness. For $2,650 you can co-sponsor a lift. For smaller amounts you can sponsor the installation of the lift in a patient’s home or the rehabilitation of an existing lift that is being installed into a new patient’s home.
All donated or co-sponsored lifts will be marked with an engraved plaque memorializing the donors who made the equipment loan possible. If you prefer, Project Freedom will engrave your plaque with the name of someone else you wish to memorialize or honor.
Can you think of a better way to honor your parents on a Father’s Day or Mother’s Day? Would you and your spouse like to celebrate an anniversary by helping another couple stay together through a trying illness? Might the holiday season have more meaning to you and your family if you knew that your joint donation would help a series of families?
If so, please give us a call at (734) 240-2565.
